Whitcomb remained in Phoenix's starting lineup Thursday with Kelsey Plum unavailable, but her 18.8-minute workload came entirely in the first three quarters. The Mercury used Lexi Held and Shay Ciezki more heavily late, so Whitcomb's starting designation does not guarantee a closing assignment. Plum is out again Saturday and Valeriane Ayayi is also unavailable, preserving a clear path to low-20s backcourt work against Toronto. Whitcomb should continue supplying shooting and secondary playmaking alongside Alyssa Thomas and Kahleah Copper, though the final guard combination remains matchup dependent.
