Raegan Beers moved into Connecticut’s starting lineup Friday and played 22.1 minutes in the loss at Indiana, finishing with six points, three assists and a block. The assignment marked a clear step up from the low-teens reserve workload she had carried through most of August, though it came with both Brittney Griner and Olivia Nelson-Ododa unavailable. Griner remains out Sunday, while Nelson-Ododa is questionable. That keeps Beers in line for a prominent share of the center minutes, particularly if Nelson-Ododa sits again. If Nelson-Ododa returns, Beers could slide closer to a reserve workload, so her role remains tied to that decision.
